How To Make a Pandemic Time Capsule
October 31, 2020
As unthinkable as it sounds there may come a day where you want to look back on 2020 and remember what you were thinking and feeling. By putting together a time capsule you will be able to reflect on the good and the bad of this crazy year in the future.
You might need:
- Paint
- Glue
- Scissors
- Tape
- Markers or colored pencils
- Tissue paper
- Choose a jar, box, or other container to store your items inside.
- Decorate the container in any way you like.
- Think about everything that happened, happy or sad, and choose items that reflect those moments. Could be a print out of a newspaper headline from back in March, or some sadly unused tickets from a concert.
- Compile plenty of photos, either on a flash drive or printed out, of things you want to remember.
- Write a letter to your future self. What has changed because of COVID-19? What do you hope your life looks like in the future?
- Tuck everything safely in the container and seal it shut. You might want to pack it with tissue paper.
- Write the date that you plan to reopen the time capsule on the outside, Maybe add the event in your phone calendar.
